Your Bambu Lab printer, run by your AI.
Ask ChatGPT, Claude, Codex, Cursor, Gemini, Grok or any MCP agent for a part. Kiln designs it, checks it will print, and runs it on your Bambu Lab printer over your own network.
Two people ask their agents for a coaster. Kiln runs the prints on a Bambu Lab A1 Mini and a Prusa Mini.
What your agent can do with your Bambu Lab
Runs the print
Your agent sends the job, follows its progress, and looks through the printer’s camera while it runs.
Knows your AMS
Kiln reads every AMS slot (the filament, its color, how much is left) and sends each color in a print to the spool that holds it. On an A1 with an AMS Lite, it also makes multi-color files itself.
Drying advice, on Pro
With Kiln Pro, your agent can tell you whether a spool is ready to print and exactly how to dry it.
Checks before it starts
Kiln checks the job fits this printer before it starts, then waits for your OK.
Kiln knows each machine’s real limits, material by material. Ask your agent before you buy a spool.

Setting it up
Kiln runs on a computer on the same network as your printer and uses the access code shown on the printer’s screen. To let Kiln start prints, turn on LAN Only Mode and then Developer Mode on the printer. That turns off Bambu Handy and Bambu’s cloud for that printer. Watching a print works without either.
Free and Pro run one printer at a time; you can own several and switch between them. To run several at once, see Kiln for print farms.
Questions
Does Kiln need Bambu’s cloud?
No. Kiln talks to your printer directly over your own network. Starting prints needs LAN Only Mode and Developer Mode, which turn off Bambu Handy and Bambu’s cloud for that printer.
Does it work with my AMS?
Yes. Kiln reads what’s in each slot, and each color in a print goes to the spool that holds it. On an A1 with an AMS Lite, Kiln can make multi-color files itself; on other Bambu Lab models, slice multi-color prints in Bambu Studio and Kiln routes them the same way.
Will it print without asking me?
No. Kiln shows you the model, then waits for your yes before every print. You can say yes for the next two hours or the rest of the day so it stops asking for a while, and you can turn on auto-print yourself. Auto-print is off unless you turn it on.
Which AI apps does it work with?
ChatGPT, Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Gemini, Grok, or any app that speaks MCP. On chatgpt.com, claude.ai, gemini.google.com and grok.com, the Kiln connector designs, checks and prices parts; to run your own printer, install Kiln on the computer next to it.
